Oliver and S School Photo Dress


It needs a hook and button on the back collar, but it is finished otherwise. This is a size 4 and seems to fit the 2 1/2 and 4 year olds, but too short for the 5 year old. We will have a fitting soon to determine final changes in the pattern. This fabric is quilter's cotton and is a little too coarse for my satisfaction. The lining is a little heavy and I'm skeptical about how it will wash. It will probably need ironing, or it will become a play dress instead of church or town dress. I really like the way the dress went together. The instructions were very easy to follow and not complicated to execute. I sewed the hems together inside out and after turning, the bottom of the dress is enclosed, not hanging loose from the lining. I top-stitched to make it one. Hopefully that will eliminate the need for ironing after washing. Pictures soon with finished model. . .

With a Statler Stitcher and Gammill Optimum Plus longarm quilting machine, a 14 foot table, and the drawing program AutoSketch, no project is too big or too small. Anything from hand guided meandering to custom digitized designs can be applied to a project to complete that labor of love.
